Dr. Greenfield Dr. Dave Greenfield, Ph.D.

Dr. Dave Greenfield is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in the study and treatment of all forms of Internet abuse and behaviors associated with addictions linked to technology in both the home and workplace. A gifted speaker and teacher, Dr. Dave is the critically acclaimed author of the groundbreaking book entitled Virtual Addiction (New Harbinger Books, 1999).

Dr. Dave is a past-president of the Connecticut Psychological Association and is a founding partner of the Connecticut-based Psychological Health Associates, LLC. As a practicing clinician, he regularly treats private patients dealing with numerous issues, including marriage and family problems, child custody issues, workplace problems, and all types of addictive and compulsive behavior. He is also an expert in human sexuality issues and the treatment of Internet/cyber-addictions to pornography, video/computer gaming and gambling, among others.

Dr. Dave also serves as an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at The University of Connecticut’s School of Medicine. In addition, he is a special master for the Connecticut Superior Court’s Family Division and oversees a weekly group session for men dealing with issues surrounding compulsive sexual behavior, pornography and other cyber-addictions.

As a corporate consultant and educator, Dr. Dave has lectured at prestigious business conferences and numerous medical, social service and mental health meetings across the country, including the 2002 American Psychological Association meeting. He has been published repeatedly in respected medical journals and industry publications for more than twenty years. Currently, he is working on a new book, entitled Quiet Miracles: Pathways to Soulful Living, and is actively working with representatives from several Fortune 500 companies to address problems associated with addictive behaviors and the use of technology in the workplace, as well as life quality balance and productivity, prosperity consciousness and success, and the integration of spirituality to enhance work satisfaction.

His research and writing has been the focus of coverage in news media across the globe. He has been featured as an expert on workplace technology issues and cyber-addictions of all kinds on such noted programs as Good Morning America, CNN, and ABC National Network News, among many others, and been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Forbes, People, USA Today, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Newsweek and Redbook, to name a few.

Dr. Dave was honored with the American Psychological Association’s Heiser Presidential Award for Professional Psychology Advocacy (1999) and the Connecticut Psychological Association’s award for Distinguished Contribution to Psychology in Connecticut (1995). He holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology with a Minor in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy from Texas Tech University, a Masters in College and Community Counseling from New York University and a Bachelor degree in Psychology from Ramapo College of New Jersey.

Dr. Dave is a dedicated father of two, an avid cyclist and a gifted poet.
